How the converter stays accurate
Each category converts through a single “base” unit (for example, metres for length). Your input is first converted into the base unit, then converted into the target unit. This prevents inconsistencies that can appear when chaining multiple direct conversions.
If you are converting temperature, note that the formulas include offsets (for example, Fahrenheit to Celsius). That’s why temperature conversion is not a simple multiplication like length or mass.
Quick tips
- If the number looks wildly off, check you didn’t mix up miles and kilometres.
- For pressure, remember: PSI and bar are very different scales.
- For energy, kWh is a measure of energy (power × time), not power.
