How it’s calculated
For L/100km, fuel used (L) = distance × (L/100km) ÷ 100. For MPG (US), fuel used is computed in gallons, then converted to litres. Total cost = litres × price per litre.
Planning tip
If you want a safer estimate, add a small buffer (for example 5–10%) for stop-start traffic and hills.
