Units-Calc provides calculators, converters and explanatory content. The site is designed to work without requiring visitors to create an account.

Units-Calc does not sell personal information. Non-essential analytics and advertising technologies should only operate in accordance with the choices collected through the site’s consent management platform where consent is required.

Calculator and converter inputs are generally processed in your browser to produce a result. Units-Calc does not intentionally create personal profiles or user accounts from the values entered into its calculators.

You should not enter information that directly identifies you or another person unless a calculator specifically requires it and the page clearly explains why. Health, financial and other calculator results are general estimates and should not be treated as personalised professional advice.

Analytics or advertising services may record page and interaction information when permitted, but Units-Calc should not configure them to deliberately capture free-text entries, passwords or complete form contents.

Units-Calc may use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. Depending on configuration and consent, Google Analytics may process information such as pages viewed, approximate geographic location, device and browser information, referral source, session events and IP-derived information.

Google acts as a service provider for analytics data and may also process information under its own terms and policies. Analytics information may be combined into reports that help identify popular pages, usability problems and broad traffic patterns.

Event-level Analytics data controlled through the property’s standard retention setting is kept for no longer than 14 months. Aggregated reporting information may remain available for longer in accordance with Google Analytics functionality.

Analytics cookies or similar technologies should not be activated before valid consent where consent is legally required.

Units-Calc may display advertisements supplied through Google AdSense and participating advertising technology providers. Advertising services may process information such as your IP address, browser or device information, the page visited, consent signals, advertising identifiers, ad impressions and interactions.

Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver and measure advertisements, prevent fraud, limit repeated ads and—where you have consented—personalise advertising based on activity or inferred interests.

Where consent is not provided, the type of advertising that can be shown may be restricted. Non-personalised or limited advertising can still involve some processing for delivery, security, fraud prevention, frequency control or measurement, subject to applicable law and platform configuration.

Advertising personalisation may involve profiling by Google or other advertising providers. Units-Calc does not itself make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about visitors.

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, tracking pixels, scripts, tags and device identifiers.

Units-Calc does not sell contact-form information or provide it to third parties for their own direct marketing.

Some service providers, including Google and infrastructure providers, may process information outside the United Kingdom. Countries outside the UK may have different data-protection laws.

Where the website operator is responsible for an international transfer, appropriate safeguards should be used as required by law. Service providers may rely on mechanisms such as adequacy regulations, approved contractual safeguards or other lawful transfer arrangements described in their documentation.

• Contact messages: kept only while reasonably needed to respond, investigate an issue, maintain necessary correspondence or establish and defend legal rights. Routine messages should be reviewed periodically and deleted when no longer needed.
• Security and server logs: retained according to the hosting and security provider’s configured periods and only as long as reasonably necessary for security, diagnostics and abuse prevention.
• Google Analytics: event-level data is retained for no longer than 14 months under the standard property setting described above.
• Advertising and consent information: retained according to the consent platform, Google and advertising providers’ applicable settings and policies.

Information may be kept for longer where reasonably required by law, for dispute resolution, fraud prevention or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to:

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. It is usually sensible to raise the concern with Units-Calc first so there is an opportunity to resolve it.

Units-Calc is a general-audience calculator website and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through accounts or profiles. Children should avoid submitting personal information through the contact form without appropriate adult guidance.

Some calculators may be unsuitable for children or may require age-specific interpretation. Individual calculator pages should explain relevant limitations.

Reasonable technical and organisational measures should be used to protect information, including HTTPS, access controls, input validation, software updates, spam protection and limiting retention.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Visitors should not submit confidential or sensitive material that is unnecessary for the enquiry.
